About the Scheme

Recognizing that land ownership confers dignity within society, the State Government introduced a scheme in 2004–05 to purchase land in the names of Adi Dravidar and tribal women, with the aim of empowering them. Priority is given to women belonging to Scheduled Castes. In the absence of women in the family, priority is accorded to the husband or sons.

Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing & Development Corporation Ltd. (TAHDCO) is a Government of Tamil Nadu undertaking established to improve the socio-economic status of the Adi Dravidar and Tribal communities in the state. The organization implements various welfare schemes aimed at supporting education, self-employment, skill development, housing, land purchase, and economic empowerment.Through financial assistance, subsidies, and development programs, TAHDCO helps eligible beneficiaries achieve sustainable livelihoods and improve their quality of life.

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must be a woman belonging to the Adi Dravidar (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.
• The applicant must be a resident of Tamil Nadu.
• The applicant should satisfy the income limit prescribed by TAHDCO.
• The applicant or family should meet the land ownership conditions specified under the scheme.
• The applicant must possess valid community, income, and identity certificates.
• The land proposed for purchase should comply with the guidelines issued by TAHDCO.
• The applicant must fulfill all other eligibility conditions prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu and TAHDCO at the time of application.
