About the Scheme
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is created by the Central Sector Scheme By Government of India on 17 September 2023 to provide comprehensive support to traditional artisans and handcraft peoples. The Scheme improve the skills and quality on the services to establish their business. It covers 18 traditional trades, including Carpenters, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, sculptors, cobblers, masons, tailors, barbers, washermen and other.
Under the Scheme, eligible Vishwakarma can provide the skill for eligible candidate, skill training, a toolkit incentive up to ₹15,000, and collateral-free loans up to ₹3 lakh in two stages. The loan offer 5% interest , under the terms and conditions. The beneficiary can also receive the incentives for digital transaction and support the marketing helps. The Scheme also Provide the eligible candidate for PM Vishwakarma Certificate And ID Card to helping their needs and gain access.

Eligibility Criteria for PM Vishwakarma Scheme
- The applicant should be an artisan or craftsperson working with hands and tools.
- The applicant should be engaged in an unorganized sector on a self-employment basis.
- The applicant should be engaged in one of the 18 family-based traditional trades mentioned in the scheme.
- On the date of registration for the scheme, the minimum age of the applicant should be 18 years.
- The applicant should be engaged in the concerned trade on the date of registration.
- The applicant should not have availed loans under similar credit-based schemes of the Central Government or
- State Government for self-employment/ business development, e.g. PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, Mudra, in the past 5 years.
- The registration and benefits under the Scheme shall be restricted to one member of the family.
Exclusions
- A person in government service and their family members shall not be eligible.
Application Process OF PM Vishwakarma Scheme
| 01. Visit the Official Portal | Go to the official PM Vishwakarma portal and access the beneficiary registration |
| 02. Aadhaar Authentication | Enter the required Aadhaar details and complete Aadhaar-based biometric authentication for identity verification |
| 03. Provide Personal Details | Enter the required information, including the applicant’s name, address, mobile number, family details and other personal information. |
| 04. Select the Traditional Trade | Select the eligible traditional trade in which you are currently working from the list of 18 trades covered under the scheme. |
| 05. Submit Bank Details | Provide the required bank account information so that eligible financial benefits can be transferred to the beneficiary. |
| 06. Complete Registration | Review all the information entered and submit the application. The details will be verified through the prescribed process. |
| 07. Verification | The application undergoes three-stage verification, including verification at the Gram Panchayat/Urban Local Body level and further examination at the prescribed levels. |
| 08. Receive PM Vishwakarma ID | After successful verification and approval, the beneficiary receives a PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID Card. |
| 09. Access Scheme Benefits | Once registered and eligible, the beneficiary can access applicable benefits such as skill training, toolkit incentive, credit support, digital transaction incentives and marketing support. |
