About The Scheme

The Pradhan Mantri Formalisations of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme is centrally Sponsored Program Launched by 2020 June by the Ministry of Food processing Industries. The unorganised sector in the country compress nearly Rs.25Lakh food Processing enterprises that are unregistered or unformal. With only 7% of investment in plant & machinery and 3% of outstanding credit, the unorganized enterprises contribute to 74% of employment, 12% of output, and 27% of the value addition in the food processing sector. Nearly 66% of these units are located in rural areas and about 80% of them are family-based enterprises. Most of these units fall under the category of micro-manufacturing units in terms of their investment in plant & machinery and turnover.

Eligibility Criteria

• Individual entrepreneurs engaged in or planning to establish a micro food-processing unit can apply, subject to scheme conditions.
  
  
• The applicant should generally be 18 years or above.
  
  
• The applicant should have a viable food-processing business/project eligible under the scheme.
  
  
• Existing units seeking upgradation or modernisation may be considered for assistance.

Application Process OF PMFME Scheme

Step 1 : Visit the PMFME official portal and access the online application facility.
