About the Scheme
The e-Shram Card is a Government of India initiative under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, created to build a centralized database of unorganised workers across the country. It helps the government connect eligible workers with various social-security, welfare, employment and skill-development schemes. The scheme covers workers such as construction workers, migrant workers, street vendors, domestic workers, agricultural workers, gig/platform workers and other unorganised-sector workers. Eligible workers aged 16–59 years can register on the e-Shram portal and receive a Universal Account Number (UAN).
