About the Scheme

PM-Vidyalaxmi is a single online portal that helps fo the student for education loans and interest subsidy for a eligible student for higher education in India or abroad. The Pradhan Mantri Vidyalaxmi scheme, approved on 6 November 2024, aims to ensure the all talented student for the higher education withouu financial barriers for providing loan support.

Under the scheme, more than 22 lakh student are benefit every year. To encourage the bank to provide more education loans, the government of India ofeers a 75% credit guarantee for education loans up to ₹7.5 lakh. This reduce the risk for bank and helps more students receive loan approval.
