The Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneur Empowerment Scheme (TWEES) is an initiative of the Government of Tamil Nadu to encourage women to start a new business or expand their business. The MSME Department, eligible women entrepreneur can receive the financial assitance from the banks, with eligible projects receiving loan support up to ₹10 Lakh. The scheme aims to promote self-employment, create job opportunities, and strengthen women-led enterprises across the state.

Purpose of the TWEES Scheme

The Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneurs Empowerment Scheme (TWEES) is mainly offered to encourage women and transgender entrepreneurs to start their own businesses and become financially independent. TWEES helps address this challenge by providing bank-linked financial assitange along with 25% capital subsidy, up to ₹2 lakh, for eligible products. The scheme supports new manufacturing, service and business/trading enterprises, with a maximum project cost ₹10 lakh.

Features of TWEES

• Applicant must between 18 to 55 years of age.
  
  
• Financial assitance available for manufaturing business, trading business, and service sector with maximum project cost ₹10 lakh.
  
  
• Beneficiaries are required to 5% of the total project cost as their own investment
  
  
• The Eligible Applicable can receive an Individual Capital Subsidy 25% of the project cost, subject to a maximum subsidy of ₹2 lakh
  
  
• Applicant must be permanent residents of Tamil Nadu.
