About the Scheme
This Scheme was introduced by Central sector Scheme to facilitate street vendor to access affortable working capital loan for resuming the livelihood which were adversly affected by the lockdown. PM Street vendor AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM – Svanidhi) is a special micro-credit facility was launched my Ministry of Government of Hosing and Urban affairs, for providing affordable loans for street vendor. Facility tranche up to ₹15,000 for the one year tenure. Interest subsidy up to 7% of timely or yearly repayment period. The On Time Repayment of the first loan, and the next (Second) loan eligibility was 20,000 or 50,000.

Eligibility Criteria
- The scheme is primarily intended for street vendors engaged in urban areas.
- Eligible vendors may include those selling vegetables, fruits, food, clothing, footwear, household items and other goods or services on the street.
- Vendors should have the required Certificate of Vending (CoV), Identity Card, or other acceptable proof issued by the concerned local authority.
- Street vendors who were left out of the survey may be considered based on an eligible Letter of Recommendation (LoR) issued by the appropriate authority.
- Vendors from surrounding peri-urban or rural areas who vend within the limits of an Urban Local Body may also be covered, subject to the scheme guidelines.
- The applicant must satisfy the loan and repayment conditions prescribed by the lending institution and the scheme.

Application Process
Step 1: The street vendor can approach a participating bank, microfinance institution or other lending institution for the SVANidhi loan.
Step 2: The applicant’s details and street-vending status are verified using the available Certificate of Vending, Identity Card or Letter of Recommendation, as applicable.
Step 3 : Submit the required KYC document, Aadhar details Bank Account Number information along with the loan application
Step 4 : The lending institution checks the applicant’s eligibility and processes the loan request.
Step 5: Once the application is approved, the working-capital loan is credited to the vendor’s bank account.
Step 6: The vendor should use the loan for legitimate business requirements and repay the loan on time.
Step 7: Eligible vendors who make digital transactions and meet the applicable conditions can receive the digital-payment incentive and interest subsidy.
Step 8: After successful repayment, the vendor may become eligible for a higher loan amount under the next tranche, subject to the scheme rules and lender approval.
