Key Features of the Scheme
- Most of the working women in Tamil Nadu finds difficult to reached their work place on time.
- The problem gets even worse when it is time to come back from the office.
- So, keeping this in mind Tamil Nadu Government launches Amma Two Wheeler Scheme for Working Women.
- In this scheme, any working women who is willing to buy two wheeler will get subsidy from Tamil Nadu Government.
- The amount of subsidy is Rs. 25,000/- or 50% of the cost of the vehicle, whichever is less.
- Additional assistance of Rs. 6,250/- will be given to disable beneficiary.

Eligibility Requirements
Women must meet the below mentioned criteria to receive the benefits of Amma Two Wheeler Scheme : –
01. The women should be a resident of Tamil Nadu. |
02. Age should be between 18 to 40 years. |
03. Must Know Driving. |
04. Have Valid Two Wheeler License/Learner License. |
05. The annual income should not exceed to Rs. 2,50,000/-. |
06. Only single women beneficiary is eligible to avail the benefit in a family. |
07. Should have appeared for class 8th examination (Passed/Failed). |
08. Priority will be given to : Women living in remote places or mountainous areas. Female Headed Families. Deserted Women. Destitute Widows. Disabled Women. Unmarried Women aged above 35 years. Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe. Transgenders. |

Application Process
Step 1 : Get the Application Form
Collect the Amma Two Wheeler Scheme Application Form (Urban/Rural) free of cost from the Block Office, Urban Local Body (ULB) Office, or District Collectorate.
Step 2 : Fill in the Details
Complete the application form carefully and provide all the required information correctly.
Step 3 : Attach Documents
Attach all the necessary supporting documents along with the completed application form.
Step 4 : Submit the Application
Submit the duly filled application at the concerned Block Office or Urban Local Body (ULB) Office.
Step 5 : Postal Submission
Applicants can also send the completed application through Speed Post or Registered Post.
Step 6 : Get an Application Number
A unique application number will be assigned to each application.
Step 7 : Receive Acknowledgement
The applicant will receive an acknowledgement receipt containing the unique application number.
Step 8 : Application Verification
The submitted application and documents will be scrutinized and verified at different levels.
Step 9 : Selection of Beneficiaries
After verification, the District Level Selection Committee will prepare the final list of eligible beneficiaries.
Step 10 : Claim the Subsidy
If selected, and the beneficiary plans to purchase the vehicle using her own funds, she must submit the Subsidy Claim Form to receive the subsidy.
Step 11 : Subsidy Payment
The approved subsidy amount will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account.
Step 12 : Vehicle Purchase Through Loan
If the applicant wishes to purchase the vehicle through a loan, the application will be forwarded to a bank or vehicle financing company for further processing.
